“True dedication is representing a country, most of which only seriously acknowledges you every four years. Being your best even when networks won't give you airtime. Giving your all even when your victories are printed under 'other sports'. For them it has to be for the love of the game, and THAT is what creates champions.” _____________________________________________________________________ - a Fan
Updates:
4-11-2010 . New Skater of the Month for April, Julian Wood. Julian will be our final skater of the month on TRF (until further notice) due to lack of donations. Please click the SOTM icon to the right to read Julian's story and his struggle to make it back to competitive form after a horrific skating accident.
And Please send Julian out with a bang. Give as generously as you can.
TRF will remain here as an archive and information area. You may continue to donate anytime to the skaters on TRF who are still active, or head on over to the National Skater's info tab to be directed to their websites and donation info if you would prefer to donate to them.
The Ice and Times blog will continue to be active for Short Track News and Information
A HUGE Thank You to all the fans who have supported the skaters over the last 2 years. They appreciated it more than you know, and your donations often meant the difference between them being able to pay for ice time, training or equipment - and not. Thank you again for your generosity.

Welcome to The Rocker Fund:
Supporting America's Short Track Speedskaters
Welcome to The Rocker Fund! We are a fan-based effort to publicize, encourage and financially assist America's Olympic hopefuls in the sport of short track speedskating. We were inspired by the heart, talent, hard work and graciousness of these athletes and we hope you will be too. Through the 'in-their-own-words' bios posted here, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the new generation of skaters and help them individually (both financially and with your well-wishes) so they can realize their dreams. Hopefully the bonds created here will further inspire you to attend a competition to cheer these skaters on and possibly meet them in person.
Please open your hearts and your wallets for these amazing young men and women. Let them know that we're rooting for them as they pursue the dream of skating for our country in international competition and ultimately, in the Olympic Games!

A Note to the Skaters -
This website is for you.
Those who have dedicated their lives in pursuit of a dream. We hope you will take some time to look around the site, and we welcome any ideas, feedback or thoughts you may have that will make this a another tool to help you achieve your goals.
Our objective is to provide you with a place to post your information, introduce yourself to new fans, keep the tried and true fans updated on your competitions and successes, and if you wish, provide an avenue for fans who would like to donate to your efforts. Fans understand that competing as an elite level athlete is an expensive endeavor, especially for a sport that gets little media attention.
Of special importance to you is the link to "The Skater's Corner" under "The Rocker Fund Skaters" tab. There you will find information that will guide you through what we will need to post an attractive and informative biography. The website will continue to evolve as it grows, however, and hopefully we can broaden our scope in the future. Any skater's who were not eligible to compete at U.S. Championships will still be considered on a case by case basis.
For a more complete explanation of the websites goals, 'current game plan', and how we are planning to achieve them, Please check out the FAQ's section under the 'FAQs & Links' tab.
